Hey, guys...why wait around until someone posts a picture of a lowered (not "slammed") Savage?
In 10 minutes you can see for yourself how it looks on your OWN bike! DO THIS:
Cut a 3" or 4" square block of wood, about 3/4" or 1" thick. Put your Savage in gear so it won't roll.
Center your wood block on top of your rear tire.
Get out your 17mm wrench and remove both shocks. (You will need someone to support the weight of the bike as you remove the last shock)
Ease the rear of the bike down until the fender rests on the wooden block. This is how your Savage will look lowered. (not "slammed") Now YOU take a picture of it!
If you like it, then make your own solid metal links to replace the shocks. Do a good job, and have the links chromed or painted. I've lowered every bike I've ever owned. I like the cool appearance and the solid feel. You won't have a rear suspension anymore, but for a street cruiser...it doesn't matter.
Ride with Pride...
